Reporting to Parents

At Northlands we pride ourselves on working together with parents/carers to ensure all pupils reach their potential.

It is vital that parents/carers feel informed and knowledgeable about their child's achievement, attainment and progress as well as their next steps and targets so that they can help their child at home.

We aim to ensure parents are informed throughout the year with a mixture of face to face and written reports.

Our Reporting to Parents Annual Calendar is as follows:

Early Years Stay & Learn Sessions

Every half term Nursery and Reception parents are invited to ‘Stay & Learn’ sessions. These morning sessions allow parents to find out about their child’s learning so far; look and contribute to their Learning Journeys and watch a demonstration of how to teach their child a particular area of the EYs curriculum so that parents can apply this at home. For more information, please see your child's class teacher.

Interim Reports

At the end of the Autumn and Spring Terms, parents of pupils in Years 1-6 will receive an Interim Report in conjunction with the Parent, Pupil and Teacher Coaching Meetings. This is in accordance with our new Primary Assertive Mentoring assessment system.

These reports will be completed during the meetings with parents and serve as written evidence of the meeting taking place providing practical advice and recording agreed actions.

Parents will also have access to their child's Primary Assertive Mentoring Target Sheet and Attainment Ladder to compliment the Interim Report. Finally, during the meetings parents will also been invited to see their child's work/pupil books.

Parents can also speak informally to class teachers about their child's End of Year Report as well as pop to meet their child's new class teacher for the following academic year.
