At Northlands, English is at the heart of our curriculum, both as a subject in its own right and as the medium by which we teach; we aim to engender a life-long love of reading, and to develop our children’s writing skills to help them to act as fully participating members of society, able communicate, interact, read, write and speak confidently.
At Northlands, our mission for Science is to encourage wonder and curiosity in our children, so that they learn to ask questions which allow them confidently to investigate and explore the world around them – and beyond!
|Geography and History||-Mrs Gibbins|
|Music||-Mrs Murray||Children will analyse, create and develop proficiency in music.|
|MFL||-Mrs Smith||Children develop linguistic competence extending their knowledge about how language works and compare and contrast other languages with English.|
|Computing||-Mrs Smith||The core of Computing is computer science, in which pupils are taught the principles of information and computation, how digital systems work, and how to put this knowledge to use through programming. Building on this knowledge and understanding, pupils are equipped to use information technology to create programs, systems and a range of content. Computing also ensures that pupils become digitally literate – able to safely use, and express themselves and develop their ideas through, information technology.|
